기둥이 있는 복도

나는 작업에 앞서 일정한 간격으로 기둥이 세워져 있는 복도 공간을 상상했다. 상상한 공간을 바탕으로 기둥의 간격을 설정하고 그 사이에 놓이는 분리대의 구획을 디자인했으며, 그것이 계속해서 옆으로 이어지는 패턴을 만들었다. 이 모티프의 비율은 캔버스의 비율과 상이하며, 따라서 각 캔버스에서의 화면 구성은 처음 설정한 규칙에 따라 자동적으로 정해진다. 나는 이 시스템을 통해 계속해서 조금씩 다른 그림을 자동적으로 생산할 수 있다.
A Corridor with Columns

Prior to making the work, I imagined a corridor space with columns standing at regular intervals. Based on this imagined space, I set the spacing between the columns, designed the layout of the metal dividers placed between them, and created a pattern that continues laterally. Because the proportions of this motif differ from those of the canvas, the composition of the picture plane on each canvas is automatically determined according to the initially established rules. Through this system, I am able to automatically generate a continuous series of slightly different paintings.
